Once you have chosen a worker and your contract is in place, the next step is making a booking. Bookings populate your worker calendar and show which arrangements have been confirmed.
What a booking includes
When you create a booking, the rate is taken from the contract you already have with the worker. You then choose the start time, end time and how often the booking will happen, such as one-off, weekly or fortnightly.
Why you need to book through the platform
Making a booking keeps the arrangement clear and gives both sides a shared record of what has been agreed. It also makes it easier to keep track of confirmed support in one place.
If your days or times change
If the support still goes ahead but the booking was not updated in time, that is okay. When the worker submits their hours, they can edit the booking details so the days and times reflect what was actually worked.
If you do not know the timing in advance
Sometimes support is arranged more informally, such as by text the day before. Even then, it is still best to jump onto the platform and add the booking in My Bookings so the arrangement is recorded properly.
How to edit a booking
If you need to change a booking, go to My Bookings and update the specific booking. You can amend the date or the time there.
If you want your worker to make bookings for you
You can allow your worker to make a booking on your behalf. That can be helpful if you already know the arrangement and want the practical side to feel easier to manage.
