The Careseekers platform has been designed to support individuals, families and organisations in finding, engaging and paying care and support workers. Our platform allows a variety of different funding types to be used to pay workers.
Using NDIS Funding As A Self Managed Participant On Careseekers
Self managed participants on the Careseekers platform have a high level of choice and control when it comes to their NDIS Funding. This will most likely mean they are the ones to approve the invoices and the ones who will pay the invoices themselves. These individuals can pay for workers on the Careseekers platform by credit card or via bank transfer. As soon as Careseekers receives the funds, we will transfer them to the worker with 1 business day. To learn more about NDIS Funding as a self managed participant, please click here.
Using NDIS Funding As A Plan Managed Participant On Careseekers
If a client is plan managed through the NDIS, invoices will be approved by the client (or their nominated person). The plan manager will then automatically receive the invoice, contact the client to get direct approval and then pay the invoice. Payments from plan managers can take up to 14 days to receive from the date of invoice approval. Careseekers will then pay the worker within 1 business day of receiving the funds. Using NDIS Funding As An Agency Managed Participant On Careseekers
When a clients plan is managed by the NDIA (otherwise known as Agency-managed): They are only able to choose services from NDIS registered providers. Careseekers is an NDIS registered provider - Careseekers - The Provider. There is a thorough onboarding process with agency managed participants. Workers are required to complete an NDIS induction training course through the Careseekers Learning Hub (available in the care worker's business dashboard.)
Clients who are agency managed will have their invoices paid by Careseekers - The Provider. . When the invoices are approved, Careseekers - The Provider. will request funds from the participants' funding. As soon as the NDIS deposits the funds, the worker will be paid within 1 business day. Careseekers charges clients 10%* (GST exc.) on top of the worker's hourly rate so if a worker's hourly rate is $50 the final amount they will pay is $55.5 (GST Incl.). For Agency Managed Participants we do need to spend more time on accessing the funds and reporting and therefore charge a higher agency managed fee of 15%.
Using Home Care Packages On Careseekers
Once a client has received approval for a Home Care Package, they can begin searching for workers on the Careseekers platform or can choose to use our Concierge Service, where our team will help you find a worker.
When a suitable worker has been found, our team will connect the client with a home care provider who will manage the HCP and make payments to the worker.
The client will be asked to approve care worker invoices, which will then be sent directly to the home care provider for payment.
There are two costs to be aware of when using Home Care Package funding with Careseekers:
Provider costs: The home care provider will charge an administrative fee for managing the Home Care Package. Providers set their own administrative fees so it is worth speaking to a few to understand their fees. Careseekers partners with some very affordable home care providers so don’t hesitate to reach out to our customer support team to discuss further.
Care worker costs: Clients will pay workers using the funding in their package. Care and support workers on the Careseekers platform set their own rates, which can range depending on experience and qualifications. Careseekers charges a 10% fee (GST exc.) on top of the hourly rate to cover costs including public liability insurance.
