Unfortunately there may be cases where a worker is unwell or has an emergency situation arise, in which they have to cancel their shift last minute. As Careseekers is not an agency, it may be difficult for us to fill last minute cancellations. Our dedicated concierge service requires a 5-day turnaround to find the right support worker for a client.
In these cases, it is handy to have a pool of workers to increase the chances of being able to fill the cancelled shift.
Additionally you could re-post the job on the platform, which notifies any local workers in your area of the last minute shift. You or a family member could also actively search for workers on the platform in your area, and send them a message notifying them of the role and invite them to apply.
